Trying to alleviate the problems of being in a hard water area. I cannot use a normal salt softener as I have a sewage treatment plant and the little bugs are not keen on sodium nor is the wildlife in the stream into which I discharge, with an environment licence I may add. Looked at the units that contain resin. Not cheap to buy and every year cost a couple of hundred to replace the resin. Have always been dubious of the magnetic jobs, even though at my last work we had 2 massive units that did seem to help. I was always told that using magnetic conditioner the salts recombined after a certain time so back to square one.
Now I have come across this unit which looks magnetic but is not. Have been told the water will still be "treated" up to 3 months later. Has anyone opinions or experience of one of these as for a 22mm unit the cost is about £140 which looks very reasonable if it works. I am not after soft water just a reduction in limescale.
