I am sat at home, twiddling my thumbs and looking out the window and getting quite stressed in the process? Waiting for Repairs comapany to come and collect my van for repairs.
They rang yesterday, asking if I wanted a morning or afternoon collection? I said morning. Wasthen told morning collection occurs between 9 & 12noon, with collection driver phoning me to give exact time.

Got a call 10 minutes ago. They will be coming within the hour. That means they will be coming aroundsay 1pm. Chances are they come later. Haddecided to just book in two boiler service for today afternoon but will have to cancel that now.

Also lost a day off work on Friday as replacement van was being delivered. Expected delivery time? I was told (when they rang at around 09:50) that delivery is around 4 hours from the call time. I make that 2pm. They rang at 2:30pm saying they have only just gotten a van. I told them get here by 3pm or after 4pm as I want to pick kids up from school. They delivered at 2:55pm. Van not washed and with some damage to near side, bumper, etc. I asked what was going on and was told girl who had van said she parked and came back to find damage? GREAT.
WHO WILL PAY FOR ALL THIS LOSS OF EARNINGS?????

Bill the repair company for loss of earnings they said morning and they come afternoon surly there's a claim there somewhere

Could have used the time wisely, Hoover out them crumbs.

That could be a disaster. If I hoover, the missus will use that as an excuse not to hoover. She will claim she thought I was going to do it, that's why she didn't?

Back to the OP, the way I see it is this: had someone not crashed into my van, I wouldn't have been sat around looking out the window. So I'd have expected her insurance company to compensate me for days lost off work?
Las it happens, today has been the same. Had to stay in allorning waiting for my repaired van to be returned. When it was, I phoned her insurers to come and collect their van. They asked when it will be available and I said from 3pm. Ok, says them. You must not drive/use it after that time. We will get a driver to ring you and collect the van. It is now 16:30 and no call? Chances are no one comes today, so I may have to take tomorrow off as well??? Aaaaarrrrrggggghhhh

going through the same trying to return an unwanted delivery, they screwed up the order now want me to stay in all day for them to collect it and give me the right thing!!!!!!!!!!!! sale of goods act says they shouldnt cause me inconvenience, pit they cant read the law pffft

I hope you got your unwanted delivery collected Lame. As for muggins here, no one rang or collected the van. What is more annoying is that I'm now 'redponsible' for looking after their van even though I'm not using it? As if looking after mine is not enough. What if I left for work and some idiot came and vandalised the van? They will want me to pay for it or pay the excess of £350.
Annoying & frustrating

Where have they got to come from to collect it? I would just drop the keys in and say pick it up whenever you want not my problem anymore. If they were too far away I would say they either have to pick it up to suit me or compensate me for losing more time off work.

Millsey, I'm glad I waited for them. They turned up at 1pm. I did call and they suggested that I just leave key with anyone (neighbour etc). Even though I agreef, instinct told me to wait for them.
When he arrived, he checked van over then informed me I have to be responsible for rear bumper damage as his collection sheet shows it had no damage at time of delivery? I gave him that 'bad' look but he wasn't interested. ''Sign here to accept responsibility for damage'', he says. At that point, I took out my phone and showed him photographs I had taken when van was delivered. Date, location and time, for all THREE damages. He apologised then drove off. Madness.
