Hi All, hoping for some help with a leak I have in my bathroom.

Yesterday, we spotted a puddle forming in the cupboard under the bathroom basin. At first I thought it was the flexible pipe on the cold feed that had developed a leak but on closer look it seems like the base of the tap is actually leaking and water is slowly running down the flexible pipes.

There is a lot of corrosion on the bottom of the tap which also suggests that the leak is coming from the tap.

I don't know the construstion of these taps, is there something inside that could fail to cause this.

I would very much appreciate any suggestions to help diagnose and resolve this.

Thanks in advance

would bet its the flex thats leaking where it connects to the tap, but it maybe the tap (crack in it)

you have two options

1 remove the tap and replace the flex connections

2 replace the whole tap (i would go down this way tbh)

also if you could replace them couplings with male irons (what the flex connects to)

Thanks for the advice, sorry for the slow reply. I think I'll replace the whole tap as you suggest. You also mention replacing the couplings with male irons. I've searched for male irons but they look very similar to the couplings I already have. Could you explain the difference so I understand what I'm looking for?

I also plan to add an isolating valve on each pipe.
Thanks very much for your help
