going to look at a baxi duo tec showing e133? customer says he can smell gas! im sure i read something about increasing the gap on the electrodes?

I had one not long ago, changed the electodes and the ignition box

the parts were buttons if i remember right

yea thats what im thinking aswell! fella is 90 and has his heating on all day! on way to look at it now! hoping i could get it going today but if thats the problem its not looking likely, he said it had cut out a few times recently then it cleared with a re-set but he didnt no the code! but its happend again and it wont clear but atleast he got me the code!

There is no definitive way to check the Electrodes as such. Especially an intermittent fault. You have to rule out all other probable causes first then change them. Does not cost much anyway and is a common issue on these variant of boilers.
Check the high/low gas valve settings are spot on.

electrode had moved and the gap was 1mm apart! just warmed up with lamp and reset gap to 4mm all good 🙂

how long do they last before they go again gas man? atleast he is back on for now 🙂 do you have a part number for the modified part? is it just the electrode or is it leads etc aswell? i knew you were the man to keep me right on this one lol
