think they are all crap they are not substantial enough like the ones from 70's and 80's probably the older ones had more asbestos in them 😱 new ones are good in that they are slim and can fit in tight spaces but i think you have to accept they only last a fraction of the time. might be worth your while building one into a price when you do bigger jobs.

There all rubbish now a days. Has any one tried the Laco spray heat deflector? I got a small freebie bottle from the rep last week. Haven't tried it out yet and I'm a bit sceptical. I'll try it out on something that's hidden away before I use it in an area that will be seen.

I had a load of wall tiles left over, offcuts and that, so I used them last time, seemed pretty heat resistant. Other option is use speedfit everywhere😀

The one that looks like asbestos. It was a woven thick thing. Lasted years. (Now I'm hoping it wasn't asbestos).😵

Try a flame deflector for the blow torch. Also laco do a gel spray on heat mat which is good for tight spaces.

I used an old fire blanket yrs ago, that I cut into smaller squares
Didn't give a thought about it being asbestos then
Now use the monument ones which when they get caked in flux, will smoke a house out in about 10 mins

Dickie dyer burn barrier.

Far out lasts any others I’ve tried, not the cheapest but hey, buy nice or buy twice.
