This course is not a distant learning course were you mainly read books! so obv your 38 years of research doesnt cover what this thread is about, so why comment. unless you have anything decent to say then please stop commenting on this thread.

That will be me told then😛😀

No matter what type of course it is you will need good books as you will quickly find out when your "time is out😀" how little you know.
A bit like learning to swim in the classroom then being thrown off the high dive board to test what you have learned.

i totally understand were your coming from but the thread i have started here is a slightly different course from what i keep finding other ppl doing (6129) course no. asside . the place alot of ppl seem to be doin there "training" is at home from cd roms and books (i know this as i have actually had the course information officer aka sales rep. round my place trying to sell me a similar course when i first started out on this idea) this course i am about to possibly start is actually mainly focused on praticall even your theory is done at the centre were you do your praticall and on top they gurantee you work placement which is a very large chuck of the course(you never at any stage work from home) plus on this course you do your ACS see link for course info: Brookhouse Training Centre | Best Gas & Plumbing Courses in Yorkshire | Multi-Skill Gas|Brookhouse Training Centre: The Specialist ACS Gas Training Company

seeing as tamz and fuzzy havehad a slagging my turn now. I cannt ever understand why anyone could fork out £7K when its possible to get training for free and possibly find an employer for the long term when doing so. In the real world youll be earning a pitance for several years when you start out on your own anyhow when getting established as self employed or as a newbie to the trade working for someone else and that seven thousand would be better off in your own bank rather than someone elses. omho but glossy brochures and websites always seem to attract people in to easily, bit like moths to a light. Still whatever way you go for i good luck, youll need it.

Now that is a good bit of advice but most learn the hard way i'm afraid.

Firstly its no slaggin match its a forum were on, and i expect opinions thats why i created a thread. I only wasnt to happy with tamz comments because of the fact she was concentratin on distant learing courses (well thats the pic i got neway) . Now about the glossy brochures n websites part thats all good and well but i have actually been to this centre and got my opinion that way plus you will see in above comments i was actually speaking to someone currently on the course sayin how good it is. Also im glad you found it easy to get an apprenticeship etc but ive tried and its really really hard even my own bro in law couldnt take me on in his company due to lack of work in local area, and larger companys never had any spaces and when they did they were snapped up by school leavers etc i only started this thread to get info on course not were i do it!!!
