Hi

I fitted a low pressure shower set when I had a low pressure open vented system, which has a very low pressure rating. I now have a combi boiler with good pressure. I was wondering if having a shower set with a too low pressure rating could cause predominantly cold water to come out? The shower only heats up a little.

Thanks

I would have thought it would be a minimum operating pressure and a maximum, which is usually quite high. Can you state make and model of shower, and make & model of Combi? Does the boiler fire up when shower is being used? Check for non return/check valve failure by isolating the cold feed under the boiler and run the hot side of the shower, if you get water out then this could be your issue.

I don't recall the make of the shower unfortunately, it is a low cost main brand main one.

It's a grant vortex pro ext boiler, yes it fires up. The shower is not completely cold, just not hot. We have a lot of pressure

Thanks
