I spoke to gas safe to clarify this and they said its 0.008 and always has been. It's only 0.004 when MI states which is basically all high efficiency boilers. If MIs don't mention FGA at all then you don't have to do it, as long as other checks fall in line

I thought it was required for all gas appliances with a flue to ensure its burning correctly..

I disagree post up the page.
The action level is 0.004 (means it needs a service or otherwise)regardless of make or age unless MI's state otherwise.
Im happy to be proved wrong unless you can prove otherwise with an upto date book.

Hence i would be looking at dancins book
