Copying DVD's

Any of the more techy guys on here able to give me a quick point by point way of copying DVD's (ones that I own legally before I get moaned at) and put them onto my laptop to then be able to download them to both an iPad and an android tab?

As I understand it I need to copy it, decrypt it and compress it? Any free/cheap software I can download to do all this seamlessly?

DVD decrypter is my weapon of choice for this. It rips the copyright off then allows you to store the DVD (VOB) files on your computer.
Then use something like AutoGK to convert your massive VOB files into something more iPad friendly like MP4 format.
Simples.
If you're at home watching these movies on your iPad then an app called Air Video is the dogs danglies for that, lets you stream many file types from your computer to your iDevice 😉 It will also convert a lot of movie formats into an iOS friendly format so you can drag/drop them onto your device in iTunes for later offline viewing.

always used anydvd conjuction with clonedvd, even if non supporting region or copyrighted dvd 😀, ups..

The only thing I know about Linux is that they have a penguin as a logo. Can you tell me what Linux software I need and how easy it is to use?

Yet they have a logo that appeals to 4 year olds!

I might download a couple of different bits of software and see how I get on.

Any suggestions of what to download so's I avoid any nasty viruses?
