the resistance is what the modena 80e with an mf03 board should be

the modena 102 fan has a resistance of 24-27 kohms

I struggled to get any figures from Feroli...do you mind telling me how you come by this info? Many thanks.

dannypipe the information is available from the tech helpline at ferroli if you get someone who knows what he is talking about and not just reading it from a book i personally take resistances from component parts this has an advantage as you can then test a component part of a boiler without needing power

now regarding the venturis the white one is common to the modena however the red venturi and brown venturis are different one is for the 80e and the other is for the 102e hope this helps

have commonly found the red and white fitted to both 80e and 102e suppose it depends on model year

Hi, its GC No 4726705-2. Assuming its -2 because the new pcb I bought is Mf02. Is the venturies responsible for shutting down the boiler when running hot water and the central heating is on because that seems to be the problem?

yes, especially as you have found it works with the combustion door off,the venturies or aps are always suspect under these circumstances

Hi, This is my first post here. If I understand the problem that Fabby19 has, the fault is causing a lockout (red light). My experience is that the Modena 80E does not lockout when there is a fault with the airflow (either the APS or the venturi). If the airflow from the fan is not detected then there is no ignition - but there is no lockout.

It is worth checking if the lockout (red light) occurs BEFORE the point in the ignition when the fan starts, so that the fan does not even attempt to start up. I have just worked on a Modena 80E with this fault. The cause, in this particular case, was dry solder joints on the second PCB (ignition) but I believe the same symptoms can result from dry solder on the main (MF02) PCB. If you replaced the MF02 board then your problem could be the ignition board. If you are competent, you could try examining the solder with a magnifying glass for characteristic fine circular cracks. In particular, there are two relays on the ignition board. Check the solder on the pins of those relays.

Hi. thought I would update this post. Boiler was still working on and off so got out another engineer who confirmed it was a faulty pcb(ignition) which we have now replaced and fingers crossed its now working a treat.

i looked at one today, took of top flue blank and she stayed lit, same as opening cover slightly. i thought straight away aps or venturi had gone. changed venturi and with no change, going to replace aps. nearly 100 % sure itll work. why the need for all this pcb talk. have i missed something
