Maybe I'm just tired and being a whiny little girl :/ it could be worse!!
Could be worse but could be a LOT better Jay. If only you lived in East London!
where do you do most of your work and what kind of work is it?
Are you SE or on the cards?
I'm SE - our work is all over London but I'm mainly west (inc SW, NW) and I do plumbing and gas work - it varies from day to day. I've just started doing boiler installs by myself.
Don't know of any firms paying £160 take home a day.
Where you based? Selling yourself far too short mateI just think the pressure and work load with the firm is a bit too much sometimes..
From what I can see he is paying his own van from that £80OP You forget that the company needs to pay for your pension, van, sick days, insurances, fuel, tools, office staff....etc and the boss needs to make something from your work. I do think that £80 a day is not great, but if you are thinking that you are better off on your own I would suggest that there will be times, sometimes many times, that you would look back and wish you were on 80 a day. I know guys who sub-contract and are on 160 per day and need to pay for all overheads off that including insurance, van, tools n the rest, so probably not too far away from your 80 a day with no hassle.
I would however ask for a raise to take home at least a ton a day.
From what I can see he is paying his own van from that £80
how you can live off £80 a day after diesel etc is beyond me, if I could live that frugally I'd have some serious savings lolYep jays s/e pays his own everything
Yep jays s/e pays his own everything
