Roon aboot the roonaboot
anyone recommend a good multimeter ?? my cheap one is knackered so want to get a decent one, would like a simple one to use which has one setting for ohms and buzzer for continuity and preferably a magnet to be able to stick it on boiler casing.

that better ?

Anton do a good auto range one. I got an Ethos multimeter from city electrical factors. If you have cash to splash then I would buy fluke.

I've still got my 1980s Metex Testlab one from when I was at college!! Cost a fortune then (well to a student, about £60 I seem to remember!). Does all sorts of clever stuff like measure capacitance, inductance etc which I am unlikely to need anymore!

If you're planning on using it as a voltage indicator it must say on the certificate that it is suitable (theoretically that is).
