Grundfos Pump Issue

Where do you get yours Simon? Did it have a bit more oomph being for 7m head?

A 7m head pump has more oomph than a 5m head pump however a bit like the newspapers you can`t always believe the claims the buggers make. In my experience I like a pump to operate below the maximum claimed so it is not continually being pushed to the maximum.

DAB were good pumps with a good customer service but I haven`t used them for +20yrs now.

Seems to be fault only with the ups2 and Grundfos are not admitting to it from what I`m hearing.

Did think air mate but it actually filled up really nicely. It was actually a surprise

I'm worried about the same issue air lock ;/ wouldn't be really nice ...

Maybe backfilling to get rid of airlock

There were a few ups2 sent back to the Grunfos a few months back according to the Merchants we use. Apparently they had a dodgy batch. There must still be a few in circulation..... Pardon the pun.

Was it a ups2? Had something similar a few weeks back. It was pulsing. Doing a few revs every second or so. After the second ups i fitted a dab.

I've had the same won't be risking fitting another!

My best guess is it is the motors not the capacitors or the pcb otherwise Grundfos would of sent foc replacements out.

This issue as been around for a while under different headings. There does seem to be a problem which Grundfoss don't seem to want to admit. Personally, i think this will bite them on the arris as fitters lose confidence.......i won't fit them now.

2005/6 was a total disaster for Saniflo and must of cost them one hell of a lot of money, one fault we could fix on site the other meant a complete replacement pump was installed foc including the labour but we were never allowed to tell the customers the what & why. I find Grundfos`s attitude in this totally stinks.

Ive got a similar issue. Wilo 50 on a microbore 11 rad system.
The last two radiators struggle to get hot and the flow is poor.

I have a second hand Alpha2 in the garage, Im gonna give this a go on Thursday
Not sure I trust it now...
DAB have been known to make pumps for Grundfos?

Its not lack of flow on the Grundfoss UPS2....it just pulses and won't run!
