Ok , here we go. Went to a property today. Customer had wet carpet in the hallway traced it back to the airing cupboard, bottom of cylinder was on the verge of falling out, quoted for job, accepted all good

Then they say, can you have a look at the waste piping. I want prepared for this

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1375530645.597963.jpg

The waste dropped directly into a six foot void with no piping to the outside. They had Been dumping bath water down there for the past 12 years. Needless to say the outside brick work was in a right mess. The crazy thing is,it was an easy run for the waste piping straight out of the back wall into the soil pipe.

Who in their right mind would have left a job like this, beggars belief !

On the up side, they booked me in for a complete refit mid September.... Happy days.

Called to a blocked drain.

Rodding access partially blocked.

A:cowboy: builder installed a new WC in to an already existing soil pipe back last year. When I eventually persuaded the homeowner to let me take the slab up to get at the rod access, I found they'd installed it the wrong way!! :annoyed:

Apparently the 'apprentice' was told to test the drains & he'd seen it done before with an empty 2 litre bottle. Only he'd forgotten to take the bottle out. :speechless:

I didn't get any more pictures as I was elbow deep in tihs & ssip!!

Got asked to do a new installation & sort the drains for them. :nonod:

Thats horrible tom! I refuse if its a terrible job like that, sorry but my stomach cant handle it nor can i repair macerators... Just a disgusting job which my eyes never want to see again

Went back to finish off some snags on a job today after the ground working had been in & done his bit.

This is what I found..........

He thought he was helping by doing the last bit of the guttering & down pipe.

Dear God that's bad, its giving ground workers a good name, have the man flogged. (or did he cut the sarking felt off at fascia)

He cut it tight back to where the tiles meet the fascia, right underneath. Apparently the HO told him it looked untidy & to get rid of it!!

Maybe there going for that look fed up of straight lines so they went for drinking lines

I learnt to tile as I got fed up with waiting for tilers .check my Flickr account there's some of my tilling on there somewhere

Didn't know u had a hall of shame. I did post them on another thread so please deduct point from my post count! The metal plate is the hanging jig from ideal classic. Obviously not sealed behind either, ImageUploadedByTapatalk1377708994.701443.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1377709011.205285.jpg

this makes me laugh as I once had a customer who asked for this to be done I refused point blank and it ended up been a local handyman who did the job

Room Sealed Ideal Mini installed into existing twin wall flue. Installed in compartment with ducted high low ventilation from previous open flue boiler.

New flue pushed up into twin wall with open end. Plate of Aluminium to seal between fresh air and POC.

Couldn't believe what I was seeing when I opened the door.

Its an Ideal vertex flue. It comes like that.
The draught break should be in the loft space and you need to do a spillage test on it if you see one (fitted properly)
