Can't believe a Trisave turbo 45 boiler is still in existence. Ground breaking stuff for the time.

Was set up with load compensator , s plan, and danfoss Eco box!!! Installer was my hero until noticed fed fused spur on 0.75mm from a 30 amp circuit.

Got called to price for replacing a cylinder. Customer had originally asked their odd job man if they could do away with their shower pump. This is the aftermath of his solution......
IMG_0312.jpg
If you haven't guessed, he simply connected the cylinder to the cold mains! But its ok, because he fitted a pressure reducing valve and expansion vessel...

An undersized vessel not suitable for potable water. Worst of all, there was no temperature or pressure relief valve fitted!

Not a gas man, so won't comment on the wallheater exhausting into the garage, but I do love the guttering, bit like a water feature when it's a heavy downpour 😉

Went to do a boiler quote earlier for a lady who had just moved into the house yesterday. Firstly I smelled gas the moment I got to the front door, which was on the meter (provider side). So after calling that in I got on with the quote. Had a quick look at the gas fire when I was there, as you do, and found this. Live, in use, no closure plate. Shocking.

Nice carpet!
She's having it up if you want first dibs on it? It's got genuine old person smell permeated into it!#

I should add the fire also wasn't fixed in any way, only thing holding it there was the gas pipe. Rather than ID or get a closure plate she opted for removal which I was happy about.

Serviced a boiler today and found the tank strainer round the back of the tank. The valve was covered in 2 large concrete slabs and a ton of earth and the filter bowl was literally buried over. Boiler had been serviced by the same guy for the last 10 years yet he had never even looked for a strainer. I was amazed the burner ran, it was almost solid with sludge.
Amazing.
