Tightness testing has changed mate. No longer 20 mb. I’m with you on it though.

Ok, I didnt correct him on it as I know stuff changes and it's a core skill. So is it now 19 plus or minus 2?

Edit
Either I screwed up or the double posting has returned.

He got hold of me through a friend but he's at a local centre which is attached to Burnley college, he's funded the course through a student loan .

Can you not request a young lad/lass?

They are all adult learners with life experience according the tutor I spoke to .

From what I can tell life experience means they managed to get sacked from job before they've manage to empty one bin

My Misses thinks I've been tight but I know he doesn't have it, and I aint going to teach him it .

Ok so I`m tired and it`s getting late but 8weeks in a classroom then with you for a short time then what happens to them?

They're on the register, the course is for installation, so they may only be qualified to do purge and relit, tightness testing and drill 4 inch holes through brick .

This muppet said he 'wanted' to be service and repair but the college 'only want installation evidence' .I think he thinks he just need to get on the register and that's it.

If they only want installation portfolio he's not going to have fire, cookers etc so won't even be able to issue cp12s if there's a cooker or fire in the house.

As an slight aside but as this thread is about learning, I had a days installation job booked in for Tuesday, 6 Trvs and piping in a new rad on a bbu primatic system. I wasn't to keen on the job really but it was for the real old dear who's 1969 bbu I service, so rather than turn it down I booked a 64 year retired ex BG Installer to help me out, not only did I learn about 4 or 5 short cuts, but he did 4 Trvs in the time it took me to put the floor boards back and do the other 2 trvs.

As we where wrapping up, I said to him, Damn me I'm knackered after that are you not? He just looked at me and shook his head.

I've found this on YouTube, well worth a watch. He also runs a quality mentorship programm called masterfulengineer
