Apparently HMV got turned down for a £300m loan to keep it afloat. That's not my concern though, I still have a gift voucher I got for Christmas!

That's a real shame. I spent a small fortune on music cd's and games in there before Christmas. Sadly the high street stores can no longer compete with the internet.

I used to like HMV as you could browse and listen to stuff you didn't know. However the last time I did this was at least 10 years ago as a student and before downloads and before you could listen to the music samples online.
I do remember HMV were rather pricey for many including chart CDs. About £15 per CD I remember, when you could get them from Woolworths for about £8 or £9, having the result of students listening to stuff at HMV to decide if they liked it, then going to Woollies.


Really, times have moved on and they've not kept up to date, a bit like the way Virgin Magastores went.

They're refusing to accept gift vouchers. How is this legal when they've already took your money? I'll keep hold of mine for now in the hope they get bailed out.
