Hi there

I am having a bit of difficulty with establishing precisely what needs to be replaced on this Grohe concealed cistern. The builder who installed the item originally was called to deal with the leak from the flowpipe (at the cistern end) but has been unable to do so. Unfortunately he has left the WC detached from the wall. I suspect that a new O-ring is required as the flowpipe fits rather too loosely here, but I am unclear as to where the washer should be used. At the WC end the pipe connects internally into what appears to be a concealed rubber sleeve – it does not seem to be leaking at this end. Evidently the cistern is around 8 years old. Would anybody able to identify this cistern? It connects to a Laufren Pro back-to-wall WC. Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Have a look at the Dudley Vantage cistern. It relies on a washer and clip to hold the flush pipe in place at the cistern end. I have had a few problems with them.

That washer is not needed, the pipe that connects from the cistern relies on the internal 'o' ring. Then there should be a rubber connector into the toilet pan.
Most likely place to lek is the connection with the pan.

To be honest mate, it looks like the washer is a flush pipe seal washer and not needed in this setup? I would bite the bullet and get a decent plumber round, not a builder.

I would imagine the flush pipe connector needs replaced as getting the old o ring out and a new one in with the access might be a touch difficult.

Get your plumber onto Grohe and he will source all spares and fit them for you - no hassle!
