Got a new makita core drill, works fine for coring, apprentice put it on hammer action using the wee slider at the front, but it wont slide back into rotary. The switch at the front only goes half way. its a new drill so its not clogged up with dust/debri. when the slide is half way its still doing hammer action..

Am i missing something or is this a common thing?

thanks.

have seen this happen on a few of these drills but normally on old drills with alot of use. Return it back to makita for repair.

try running it forward , then back, then set direction to centre, then slide mechanism , my makita 18v does this sometimes, but if that does not work, as the other guys have said take it back!

they always do it, I've had 2 of these brand new and they both did it. It must be a common fault. I just sent it back to where i got it from and they fixed it
