new dewalt xr range?

Hey guys, i am looking to buy a new set of cordless drills. Am wondering if anyone has had any of the new dewalt xr range? I do like the sound of the hilti christmas set, but, it is only 14v.

The new xr range, 18v and a 3 year warranty sounds pretty good to me.

I know hilti are the best, and i have one of theirs for core drilling, but, i want a bit more power than the 14v. So, the dewalt for around the same price looks good

Its not always the voltage that counts. Id rather have a 14 volt drill with 3 amp/hour than a 18 volt with 2 amp hour.

I manage with a 12 volt 2.4 amp/hour dewalt with 3 batteries, not found much it cant do that i need it to yet...

I only buy Dewalt power tools. Best there is in my opinion and take a lot of punishment. Only downside is that spare batteries are expensive.

Its christmas so i may treat meself. What i really would like is an angle grinder, recip saw and small circular saw which shared the same batteries - is that poss with this range?

I'd forget a cordless angle grinder, they don't last long on batteries and most brands really struggle to cut anything decent.

he he, shout. Funny. They have brought out a whole new range for this type. They do look really good. They are on offer at a lot of places. D&M tools down here. But they are on ebay too. From a place called abbey tools.

Dont use them much really, only for cutting tiles or slates for vertical flues. I thought they'd manage that with a decent diamond blade.
Would like to see if they'd cut 100mm flue pipe too, because they are a real swine to cut with the hack saw - what are them sons a bitches made of?!

One of the best Dewalt buys I've made is the flourescent carry light that runs on the same 18v batteries as all my other Dewalt kit. Lights up a whole room/attic for 3 hours and mines is used every day. Best 50 quid I made.

Just bought my son one of these. Its a good bit of kit. I was toying with the idea of going Hilti but was swayed by the 3 year guarantee as opposed to 1 year.





I paid £259 for it at the Black and Decker factory outlet in Spenymoor. It comes with two 3A/hr batteries, charger and case.

i've never been keen on dewalt, just black & decker under a different name. i've always been a bosch man, never get any problems with bosch. each to there own i guess.

I'm loyal to no brand, I have Bosch, Makita and Dewalt. I like the Bosch SDS hammer drills and when mine wears out I have no reason not to buy the same one, it does get punished though as I mix plaster with it and use it as a core drill but it just keeps going.

Sounds like they've robbed LXT from Makita. Never used Metabo stuff, they don't seem popular?
