new to site price work

View the thread, titled "new to site price work" which is posted in Gaining Plumbing Experience on UK Plumbers Forums.

I did price work in October for a heating company on price via paye. The builders were awful in organising plots, and worked over 3 different builders 1 nationally and 2 fair size, dreadful!! As I was on price I had to organise and chase delivery’s, as they didn’t have a container for site ie ordered plots for the day but it was a nightmare lost so much money!!!! Never work on site unless you get in writing being paid for waiting around for materials and plots not ready. Waste of time

Mostly I work coz I need money but also I love the feeling that I've done the best job I can and that my customers know that I look after them. Doesn't always go to plan but there appreciation when ive helped them out is priceless and I just couldn't imagine any of that on site work. So i don't bother. My thoughts.
