Ocean Monobloc Hot Tap Leaking

Hi all,

I hope someone can offer some guidance on a leaking hot tap. I have tried to dismantle the tap but unable to get to where the washer is that I believe is allowing the water to leak.

The water only leaks when the tap is turned on and gets worse as the flow is turned up. Water is leaking from between the top of the tap but I am unable to remove the tap handle.

I thought removing it from the worktop would allow me to try all possible options to remove the tap handle but I can't.

All help would be much appreciated.

You need to change the complete cartridge mate , good luck finding one

I have looked online but no luck.

Also anyone know if the tap handle is removable?

Sometimes a grub screw round the back somewhere, or one of the arms that forms the cross of the handle will unscrew. Sometimes they just pull off, usually takes more force than you feel comfortable applying though.
Most often there is a cap that will unscrew or prise off the top, from your pictures it doesn't look like there is though.

Astracast made an Ocean mixer tap, but you'd think the label would read 'Astracast' instead of 'Ocean'.

I've contacted Astrocast and they assure me it's not one of theirs so the hunt goes on.

I still can't locate the "Ocean" company. Maybe they go under a different name? The tap is of very good quality so you'd think it was a well known brand?

I have tried pulling and twisting all the tap handle bits but anyone offer further advice on removing the handle without damaging the chrome coating?

No lugs or caps i'm afraid. I will keep trying until then.

I'm pretty certain that one of the 4 arms will undo to reveal a grub screw holding the handle on. Once that is off send us a picture and I'll point you in the correct direction.

Ah thank you for your help. I tackled this earlier on today and managed to figure it out.
It seems like all the four arms for the tap handle have to be rotated counter clockwise. I used some rubber to wrap around them, then I cranked it with the grips so not to damage the finishing.

Once all were loose, I had to remove all four long grubs that hold onto a centre long grub.

After this, it was simple. I stripped it all apart and replaced the rubber washers, put it all back together and no more leak.

All working fine now.

Hope this can help someone else that might have a similar issue.
