lame plumber
went to quote for moving some pipes at a customer I know, just happened to be passing today after a callout. Looked at the work in progress, a complete new roof and 1st floor addition on a bungalow, currently under a scaffold temp roof. Mrs customer mentioned the boiler smelt horrid in the garage where it lives, so I looked in before I left and found this 🙂
see if you can spot the problem first:

fumes had a bad effect on me, fell over

and this is hiding in there, please note what you see is after the mortar has been cleared fm the inlet section which couldnt be seen!!!!!!!!! no wonder the boiler had become noisy and the smell had been drifting throughout the house containing parents and 5 bouys under 12. But, the brickie concerned had suggested they use a bit of 4" soil pipe to extend the flue, but the owner didnt think that was right!!!!!!!!!!

The owner didnt seem at all worried that I asked to cut off the gas supply, even though I wasnt working for him, its just that I wanted someone to bill for the pipework move. But it does mean an intergas is going in next friday, HW only to start with, no point in putting the heating side on, as there isnt a roof due for several weeks 🙂
