Hi there

I am newly gas registered and have been looking throught the gas safe website and have come across the notifications sections. Now i know that i am under probation and have to fill in forms and send them off but when do i need to fill in these notifications?? Do i fill out one for every small job or just the larger jobs. Also if i am changing a boiler who do i need to notify.

Many thanks for your help

notification everytime you fit a gas appliance, excluding hobs. They charge you a nice price for every appliance aswell. This allows them to do on-the-spot inspections of your work basically. Your paying them, for yourself to be policed. Just seems wrong to me in so many ways

If you are notifying work because you are probation, only use the website for installs, not servicing, CP12's, breakdowns, etc, send them an email for these, otherwise you'll be charged £2.30 each time.

I found i could only notify boiler installs, no other appliances show. I rang and they confirmed that. Best bet phone them yourself, they wil help you out.

I'm in the same boat mate, got my ticket on Tuesday, I beleive you only have to notify of installations, as there is nothing there about servicing, repairs, safety checks. As for the form we have got through, fill it with anything you do and send it back off to them, quicker the better then your out of the probation term, which is bollocks, especially if you've done a 3 year apprentaship like me!

Its installs only, gas safe made changes for cookers etc online, i haven't done one in an age but i rang one through in may.

Does anyone realise they can notify for less by using APHC? You can join the trade association and save a fortune on your notifications! Every little counts at the current time.
