So I'm in the process of replacing a failed shower valve and I've noticed on removing the old one that it only has metal Inserts fitted to the plastic pipe on two out of four pipes. Specifically the hot and cold inlet pipes have got insert whereas the other two pipes that go to the shower and bath outlet only have olives fitted?

Is this correct or should I be using inserts all round.

In fairness the joints have not leaked in the 10 years that it's been in use but I'm want to check if I should be adding the inserts to avoid any potential leaks.

Pic shows the cold feed pipe, with a metal insert and the shower outlet with nothing
