lame plumber

Anyone tried one yet £52.50 plus vat fm plumbfix, cant be worse than some outthere, 5 yr warranty

I got the email from em yesterday and thought this was a bargain.....but.......will be a while before seeing any feedback.

I think I'll stick to the king of filters, Trappex, for the moment. If it was possible to produce a decent magnetic filter at that price I'm sure some of the other big boys would be doing it.

they are producing them at a price, but charging them out for a LOT MORE!

A SALUS filter in disguise !

ask yourself this
(1) can you service this filter without disassembly NO
(2) does this have a flow management system NO
(3) does this capture non magnetic debris NO
(4) magnet in direct contact with hot water ,possible magnetic failure
(5) does the isolating valve detach from the body incase of ISOLATING VALVE failure thus having to buy the whole body similar to the fernox tf1 NO
(6) O ring failure in the lid section similar to magnaclean YES
(7) are they made in the UK Yes (Moderated by Dan after the brand contacted us to show it in fact does say on their website that it is).
(8) does this filter have a dosing point for inhibitor NO

Added by Dan 15th Aug.

  • Why wouldn't you want to see whats happening inside? Using a 'blow down' process to clear the filter only dilutes the inhibitor concentration
  • From our experimentation when developing the product, flow management results in blockage. Free flow around a powerful multi element magnet works better for us
  • The unit contains a non-magnetic dirt trap
  • Our magnets are nickel plated then sealed in a stainless steel sleeve so are fully protected against exposure to water
  • The isolating valve is bonded to help us achieve a 10bar at 82C pressure rating, independently tested by WRAS who advised a safety margin of 3 x the pressure it would likely see
  • Our lid is 2 part so the 'O' ring is clamped and not twisted as was implied. Again its pressure rated to 10bar at 82C
  • You have dealt with 7 – thank you
  • With the lid off the filter IS a dosing point for liquid chemicals. The bottom valve allows the unit to be fully emptied before adding these chemicals

buy a axe

no need, over on this side of the channel we've learnt to use a new tool, the s-c-r-e-w-d-r-i-v-e-r, it makes servicing a lot easier nowadays, Im sure we can send one to Wales for u to try, I'm sure they started to use them when Rovers were being built, 🙂🙂🙂

no can do my good man.

yep previous ferroli's are awful but then all manufacturers have had bad boilers .look at the isar but plenty installers on here now installing the logic.

Just had a quick gander on their website, looks pretty good to me actually, intergas style thinking.

If it wasn't for diverter valves though most of us would be out of work.
