Yes that is what it states but a salus rep that i know tells me all the salus products including the filter is made in there chinese factory ,it also states dosing point for chemicals but it does not have one .
Hold a Centramag in your hand and hold a plumbfix no nonsense filter(salus) and you can tell the quality of the plumbfix filter(salus) is made in china .

Question where do you get all your info from? because reading the above I can assure you the Plumbfix is made in the UK!

Plumbfix is made by Lettergold according to the Adey rep I saw today boys.... Not Salus

From the looks of "Dizzy's" two posts Id say they are from either Lettergold or Plumbfix!

Although I do quite like the Modena, simple boiler, easy to work on/find faults, probably the best they've made, but then not familiar with the HE version. All the other condensing boilers they made have been absolutely terrible!

I'd say that Salus are also buying their filter from Lettergold then mate, do a bit of googling and you can find Lettergold buying an injection moulding machine news pr, might be some joy in approaching salus to sell yours?

i must say i went to plumbfix to look at this filter and it is a absolutely poor quality product ,flimsy spanner ,no street elbow provided .Rang one our merchant customers and had a conversation about the salus filter and he refused to put such a poor product on his shelf!!!!!

I have a sample Salus filter on my desk.

Without disrespect to Bspareltd, I don't think its as bad as that. It looks ok to me. My view was that it wasn't cheap enough to compete at the budget end, and it didn't offer any benefits to compete with the established brands like TF1 or Magnaclean at the top end.

The price range of filters is relatively narrow, so I am not convinced that there is room for a "mid market" product - I think most customers will either buy on brand name, habit or price. Rightly or wrongly, Salus is firmly associated with the budget end, and this product simply isn't cheap enough to hack it there.

Is a decent street elbow and a decent spanner really a selling point on a magnetic filter though?

I personally have never used the street elbows provided with the magnaclean as they are cheap thin copper and when I service am filter I never use the provided spanners. Most customers don't know where they are anyway 🙂

surely the main thing that counts is how much mick it collects and how often it leaks, based on this, my filter of choice would be the spirotech magnabooster. I've seen to many tf1 filters and magnacleans leak to favour those.

I haven't seen any other filters in action so can't really comment on those.

Id say any filter where by you can take the head off counts as a dosing point to be honest. I inhibit most systems this way, as it save getting in the lift or draining a rad 🙂

Fernox dont provide a spanner ,which i think is cutting back to save money ,going back to the salus filter ;functionality is limited with a small brillo pad at the bottom of the filter to catch not magnetic debris .What a gimmick

by taking the lid off ,for dosing and having a o ring in the lid ,you will have the same scenario as the magnaclean ;leaking lids
