Hello I've not been plumbing long, I'm working on price work for a firm that only take on large contracts with major developers working on new builds. I was just curious to how different these prices compare to other price work firms, & also how it differs from working on the books for a larger company to working by yourself / for yourself. Thanks in advance.

That's just labour? That's the prices for the company I work for.. It's all very easy I'm just not sure on what everyone else would expect to be paid for these sort of jobs. Please list to labour prices you'd expect to be paid for labour..

I was going to ask what quals you had if your doing some of the work mention if you haven't been at it long??

I wouldn't bother for them prices… you would be killing yourself trying to earn a good wage!

Seriously it's worked out per meter at the office with the send sheets with prices on.. On average 2/3 bed house with bathroom & clockroom just for pipe runs and drops, not including bringing pipework to point a house can get you about £200.. This would take under a day.

I've not said I've ever fitted a boiler, I'm asking about these prices as that's the prices I'd be on. I'm starting my gas in 3 months

This surely is trolling... Wouldnt waste my time on any more replies to this... Ridiculous...

Just to add worked price on new builds this time last year was clearing well over grand a week every week and in the van by 3.30 almost every day

That will be new build prices, some of the prices are a tad low but roughly there. You all say that but you can hang 20 radiators by 11oclock on site earning yourself £200 🙂

As above you can earn a grand easy and you don't have to work late at all

If pipes are already there I can hang 5 an hour easily, and level, once on the flow. All depends on what pipe and where the tails are lol

and I'm not fast by any stretch

There used to be - maybe still a publication called i think 'Spons' or something similar
but basically it was a Q/S guide to how much trades cost - we used for Health
Authority work - like medi-gas - dead easy follow the guide lines per m to install
work out the hours for our men and then add as much as you think they would bear

Dead easy centralheatking

I guess if you have the enthusiasm for it you could make decent money but it would be good graft 🙂

It is a hard days graft, still get time for two half hour breaks though. Never leave any later than 3.30 - 4.00 and you don't have to worry about chasing pay or going round pricing for jobs

All the sites I work on it's always two 10mm Hep20 pipes coming out of a 1st fix triangle.. The valves have a chrome elbow with pushfit for the 10mm so it's very basic and quick

You do a lot price work Meady?
i enjoyed it while I was there, bit repetitive but good money and simple enough once you get your routine

On this type of contract -its all about hours they provide the stuff. So We get phoned they
offer the number of hours with a spec - we say bye 2/3x and then they offer something worth turning up for .

Then when we turn up in our Transits we tell them the hours are not enough and we are going home cause we can do more dosh doing domestic c/h - they think and agree usually.

Usually my lot 'use' all the fittings and pipe thats left over - on their private jobs

When we do hospitals with empty wings - there is no lodge cause they have beds
and guess what ? CHk

you can still get spons but it's not cheap Amazon.co.uk: spons 2014

I must say i hate seeing plastic going to a radiator, makes me 🙁

Quick & easy, these developers don't care. As long as their pockets are full.
