system;
Charnwood LA50iB multifuel room heater
Honeywell ST9400C programmer
Honeywell HCW80 wireless room thermostat
Grundfos Alpha 2 pump
minimum return thermostat

When the fire is lit we have the programmer set to continuous as I can't see the point of timing the pump on a system that is always on when in use.

I have noticed that on occasion the pump cuts out and none of the controls will re-activate it, this primarily happens when we burn wood as the system runs hotter, usually after an hour or so of running.

I'm beginning to wonder if this is a safety cut out but question this as I thought the min return thermostat was meant to kick the pump in to ensure the system doesn't over heat. I beginning to wonder if it has been wired correctly

Can someone explain how this set up is supposed to work

Is it 2 pipe 3 pipe or 4 pipe system
Is it twin coil cylinder
From what you have said
You should not need the programmer (assuming this is your time clock)

When hot water is hot the return temp on pipe stat will kick on pump to then send the heated water from stove to the radiators when the temperature drops from cylinder the pump will stop slowing the cylinder to be heated again

it's a four pipe system from the room heater, as to the cylinder I have no idea.
The programmer I was told was required as part of the install to meet current regs.

I noticed tonight after the pump cut out again that it came on again after a bath had been run and the hot water temp reduced.

what would be the effect of the pipe thermostat being cross wired?
would the programmer have any effect being set to continuous/

Don't know about your regs on time clock
Over here there is no programmer as it's dangerous what if you forget to turn it on when stove lit
Should have a permanent power supply IMO

Yes sounds like its cross wired your installer should of checked that out on commissioning it
