So ive been working for a lad i went to college with for a year now, within a year ive lost £3k on petrol and wear and tear on my car to get to work since its 30miles from my house 1 way.

Ive been doing ALOT of manager work such as organising work, liaising with customers on what the BOSS has missed (alot of the time), organising special orders and sorting his mornings out.

He refuses to give me any type of pay rise only what he'll give me fuel allowance which he said he'll DEDUCT from my basic wage. Heres a few examples this week (bearing in mind its monday) lol

- doesnt know difference between commercial gas and domestic (was asked to do a safety check in a chain of indian restaurants)
- a mansion doesnt have enough water pressure so he wants to PUMP the mains (99% sure this is against water regs, only if you put a 'break tank' in you're allowed)

Said for me to find a mains pump in the morning but doesnt mind me being late (i could be driving up to 15miles and get no pay towards it!!) this guy is loosing it!

Said im thinking of going self employed again and he didnt really like that haha!

Run for the hills mate. Get in with a local housing association steady work and you won't be dealing with that numpty!

Sounds like it is more stress than they money is worth. Set up on your own if you can afford to not make as much money for a few years or go and work for a bigger firm where you don't have to deal with people like him.

Sounds like you should be his boss! What's stopping you going on your own and seeing his customers right?

tell hime you want a pay rise and some on fuel or your going self employed and draw up some paper work for him!!!

if he really is beeing a numpty then have it away with his little black book with all his number in and start up on your tod at least youll have abit of a start i know its not the done thing but think of it as late payment for the lost moneys!!!!!!!

I went self employed last year. Did everything properly, van, sign written, website, advertising. Cudnt get any work. Im in a town where its overrun with 80 plumbing businesses, alot charging next to nothing for work.

Ive worked for middlesborough council but all they gave me was a week to week contract.

Been in and out of outfits (temp contracts) for 6 years now. Im getting really sick. Theres no decent companies around that values decent lads and loyal.

He wont stop ringing me, most likely about pumping mains :| ffs!

Seems you took a lot more on board at college to him tell him to look for see what he comes up with sure it won't be one with a break tank or the 12 ltm one

whats his number we can give him the run about get some clued up plumbers to call him with some really hard Q&A that will get him thinking or ask you lol......

as him if can take on any new jobs that need ect ect pumps the lot lol
or just give us his number and van he drives we can call him saying we want to by it as its in the car mag ect ect
