I don't wanna keep asking so I want to get a template sorted for pricing.

I basically charge £65 per hour (I'm in London) which is pretty cheap I'm finding.

I've charged £400 for a days work when I did a private boiler job.

+ parts + 20% on parts

Is £400 for a days work fair regardless of what the job is? Or is that just for heavy work like boilers?

I'm quoting for the following:

Remove horizontal rad in kitchen, extend pipework underneath floor by 2 meters and fit vertical rad - builders are making access to under floor

Plumb in w/m and d/w and sink and fit new waste & trap etc

Replace and move location of existing single channel programmer.

Wire in a new double gang socket in cabinet under sink.

Replace 2 existing fused spurs.

I can get parts for £192 and I was gonna charge £400 labour.

Sound fair?

i would allow day and a 1/4 just incase so 5-600
Dammit, I was gonna say that's a fixed price even if I go over :/

So you reckon my rates aren't taking the p? Once I know I can work with this I won't need to ask anymore 😉

also little tip quote anything day rate / or anything bigger before you start as they could tell you at the end im paying you x amount
Yeah even for little jobs I always quote beforehand, won't start til I get an agreement on quote.

£400 per day in on the high side. I'm in South East London and the average is about £250+vat per day. Boiler swaps are generally the jobs you make most money on and can get away with charging more. Moving a rad and kitchen plumbing people wont pay as much for.

Ah okay.. how come I can charge more per day for a boiler swap than a days work doing other stuff? A day is a day, isn't it?

your on the low side i would say can get that up here in the middle of the sticks with plenty on engs about

and moving a rad would be hour charge unless over 3/4 which i cant seeing it being and kitchen first and second fix normally down to the fitters unless high end kitchen

If you knew my hourly rate for sani work you would probably doubt I was telling the truth but then consider how many people really know how to repair the little buggers so to me it is fully justified.

How do you become a sani guru? Do you actually work for them or are you registered as a sani service engineer?
