To be fair, snap. If I ever get a sani saniflo issue unless it's an electrical fault I tend to just say it needs replacing. So I get to swap them around and that's as far as my sani knowledge goes

Understand, however as word gets around that I can save 90% of the time my cost is justified as Shaun implied.

£400 per day in on the high side.

Not by much. Our 2016 survey shows a national median hourly rate of £45 per hour for gas work, and £40 for general plumbing.

The upper quartile (which is more typical of the London area) is at £60 per hour for gas work and £50 for general plumbing.

I'm in South East London and the average is about £250+vat per day.

You might well be underselling yourself!

Day rate and small jobs priced by the hour are very different. I can charge £70+vat an hour on small boiler repairs etc quite comfortably, but that allows for travel time between jobs and the increase time doing paperwork associated to having multiple jobs in a day. A day rate price is very different and if I worked an 8 hour day at £70 an hour, I would be getting very little work.

Its more down to the perception of the customer, they are willing to pay higher for a smaller job. Try telling them its a days work and the labour coming in at £560+vat and they will be calling around for another plumber instantly.
