Hello,

I recently purchased a house in Sheffield, and the boiler that was installed was a Remeha Avanta combi boiler.

The boiler works, and the heating can manually be turned on and off using the boiler itself.

It came with a wireless thermostat, with the standard clock on (with tabs around the outside).

The problem is that the heating on/off on the wireless thermostat can't be used to turn the boiler on or off.

I think the wireless thermostat just isn't connected to the boiler.

To be honest, I'd be happy if the clock (with tabs round the outside) was on the boiler itself, and the heating coming on and off could be set!

I'm wondering if there is someway the wireless thermostat can be re-connected to the boiler? And, yes, the batteries have been changed on the thermostat.

Seems a bit silly that the heating can't be set to come on and off without doing it manually!

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Andrew

Hello,

The make of the wireless thermostat is also a Remeha.
The clock is not built into the boiler either. It's on the wireless thermostat.

Any ideas?

Right; you appear to what is called a Programmable Thermostat. Does it say "Rematic RF" on the front?

As it is wireless, there will be another box somewhere close to the boiler and wired to the boiler. It could be built into the front of the boiler. This is the receiver which accepts the wireless signal from the thermostat and turns the boiler on and off.

Built into the boiler iirc cant see the manual on the web but below is how to re-pair them

The Transmitter & Receiver are pre-commissioned as a matched pair and marked as such.Once the receiver is powered, and the batteries are fitted in the transmitter, the set will communicate
within 10 – 20 seconds. Switching at the receiver (if the transmitter is put into a ‘demand’ condition)
will occur within 30 – 40 seconds. Re-commissioning of a set (for instance in the event of fitting a
replacement transmitter or receiver) can be carried out as follows:
a. Turn on electrical supply to boiler and turn boiler selector to heating mode. b. Press and hold black button on Receiver. The red l.e.d. will flash once immediately. It will flash a
second time after a further two-to-three seconds. Now release the button c. The red l.e.d. will remain illuminated. The receiver is now ready to receive a commissioning signal
from the transmitter.
d. Insert the batteries into the transmitter and press the Reset button found under the L/H sliding
cover – the transmitter will immediately send commissioning signals.
e. When a signal is received from the Transmitter, the Receiver l.e.d. will go out (normally within
10 – 15 seconds). The radio link between the Transmitter and Receiver is now established.
Note: When in operation and an ‘ON’ signal is received the Receiver l.e.d. will illuminate
continuously. When an ‘OFF’ signal is received the l.e.d. will remain off, but will flash intermittently
