I've attempted to replace the shower hose from our Aqualisa Lumi electric shower unit.
The new hose is badly leaking water out from the connection point and when I reattach the old hose it is now leaking too!

Both have been tried with new washers and are as hand tight as they can go (wasn't a struggle to get the existing one off)

Any ideas what to try?

Definitely do above, but to add to it;

The lumi has a plastic outlet, make sure you haven't cross threaded and damaged the threads. The best way to prevent this is to apply a small amount of upwards pressure while screwing it the wrong way(anti clockwise) slowly until you hear a small click, then start turning clockwise, this helps to ensure its threaded correctly.

  1. Make sure that the washers are installed correctly. The washer should be seated flat against the shower unit and the hose.
  2. Tighten the connection point using a wrench. Be careful not to overtighten, as this could damage the shower unit or the hose.
  3. Replace the washers again. If the washers are old or damaged, they may not be creating a good seal.
  4. If you are still having problems, you may need to contact a plumber or a qualified electrician.
Here are some additional tips for replacing a shower hose:

  • Turn off the water supply to the shower before you begin.
  • Disconnect the old hose from the shower unit and the shower head.
  • Clean the connection points with a damp cloth.
  • Install the new hose, making sure that the washers are installed correctly.
  • Tighten the connection points using a wrench.
  • Turn on the water supply and test the shower to make sure that there are no leaks.
If you are still having problems with your Aqualisa Lumi electric shower, you may want to contact Royal Bathrooms for assistance.
