Shower Panel Question

I have posed this question to various manufactures and had conflicting answers.
Has anyone got actual experience on this.

I am fitting a stone resin shower tray with 4 tiling upstands.
This will go into a corner with 2 walls being tiled.
I want to fit a fixed glass panel to the 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] side (inside the upstand) leaving the 4[SUP]th[/SUP] end free as a walk in shower.

My question is does the fixed glass panel need to be framed at the bottom.
It will be sealed with clear silicon in between the panel and the upstand.

Presume you have had the screen made and toughened ,the thing here is movement between wall and try,if you just put the glass screen on tray and silicon, any movement in the wrong direction could/will put undue stress to screen,a frame displaces this from glass screen,a site inspection would be good but generally for pointers,if tray movement minimal,you can fit screen without frame however not direct to tray,a small gap sound be left.fit screen to wall and place spacers between screen and tray,sat 3 to 4 mm,than once fixed to wall,remove spacer and silicon seal in gap or between tray outer tray lip and screen bottom

Why not fit additional support to the glass in the form of a few Chrome finished dome headed mirror screws and wall fixings, siliconed at the drill holes to prevent water ingress.

Use a tile/glass drill bit with your drill on its lowest setting (not ob hammer either!) to make the holes. Practice on a glass sheet first.

Thank you for the answers todate.
Please let me expand, to try and glean more knowledge.
The panel I want to fit is a Nabis Wetroom type panel, comes with wall fixing kit, no problem there.
The panel will be shorter than the tray, it is just the bottom of the panel where it meets the tray on the inside of the Upsands that concerns me.

The fact that different manufactures give me conflicting advice makes me want to get the facts from smeone who has done this.

I do appreciate peoples time on this.
