Hi all,
6yr old boiler stopped working Sat morning, getting a constant orange light, no DCH or HW, nothing running in the boiler, wont ignite, running the DHW i hear a single click, i can see its the diverter valve micro switch. Checked water pump seems to be free turning, AAV looks to have greeny residue around top of valve, boiler was running fine though pump has been very noisy off & on. Boiler seems dead! water pressure is good, if the water pump has failed would the system shut down like this? ie. no ignition, gas flow, fan etc.. manual says "orange led: C.H. sensor (SM) fault" whhich component would this likely be? Fuse on PCB ok,

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction, I know I may have to get a qualified engineer, but if I can identify the fault, I can hopefully get a better job done on this crappy sime! than I've experienced so far with engineers and even with the company that did the instalation!

regards
Ally

If pump running, probably pump flow switch.
Get a GSR engineer, look on the Gas Safe web site

thanks for that, my plan is to get a GSR registered engineer to do the work.. i just want to be clear whats going on with this boiler, and if its worth having repaired..

The water pump is good, I dont see a pump flow switch in the manual, do you mean the water flow switch?

Yes I believe the do refer to it being the water flow switch, which is on the heating circuit, that is operated by the pump

I saw the thermistor was replaced on 4/2008 on previous engineers job sheet, it also mentioned the same symptoms.. local plumbshop charged £10.12p for the part..thought it worth a short...fitted and working... DHW and CH restored! thanks for your help.
