ask the mods, if somebody runs 2 accounts they can normally tell from ip adresses unless they use a vpn or log in via a private proxy type setup. sumet like that.

one account and am training to be a plumber then on to gas safe in time just because Im training dos not mean one day. I wont be better then some of you here.

All the plumbers that was thought on the streets of life just like old school chipies bricklayers plasterers roofers. Half of them dont have nVQ C&G CSCS and all the other mumbo jumbo
But can do the job just the same if not better then some with all the paper work in the world.
Soo before you start jugging some one that's tying to better them selfs. That has some basic knowledge of your trade stop and think to your self I was like that once!!!!!
i have other trades under my belt all im trying to do is broaden my horizons.
sorry to have a rant but it winds me up some times that some people just dont want you there and havent got the time of day to help you just hinder you. And maybe one day you just mite be working for me you never know how your life will pan out.

that's rubbish, a lot of us have done apprenticships and have grafted to get where we are. good luck to you and by the way its not CSCS, if your skilled trade its JIB!

I know loads of old schoold bricklayers and spreads that started of pushing a broom NO! apprenticeships with no paper work but will put a guy with paper work and cards to shame!! its CSCS mate you get a skilled CSCS card when you get a NVQ
i know and have asked the collage and construction skills!!!!

Supper plumb, I was in the same place you are now when I first joined, let me tell you a few things, nobody cares about your feelings or thoughts, every other member on here only cares about themselves, admin don't really care and you will be knocking at deaf ears for most of the time. So my advice is chill out, try not to give bad advice or be rude to people. don't take anything personally and if somebody says something that you don't like then ignore it, you will not win. (also you aren't suppose to swear). in respect to your above post, there is a lot of bullying on this site, especially if you are arrogant or cocky, people will soon catch on and give as good as they get. on the plus side, you will get great advice, will even possibly get work from here, so just relax and enjoy the forum

I think you are both right, JIB-PMES is for plumbers, cscs is for other trades
After my Supper , I enjoy a Few zzzzs, food does that to some !

Apply for the arms supper lad ! We get a group together somtimes and buy certain items in bulk ! Discounted price then shared between the lads ! Ptfe will be the next one i think !

Take it on the chin and read listen and then when you find someone to teach you properly then it you have the determination you say you have you will be grand
If not just another person who thought plumbing was easy then learnt the hard way

Bullying/ slagging/ intimidation etc, there is very little difference, the point is that there only 1 rule about it, either accept it or leave the forum. I think the words "you are in the wrong game" should be banned, what does that actually mean. Plumbing isn't a game!! working on Gas definetly isn't a game and why do we need a sense of humour to be a plumber? its not like we spend all day every day laughing and joking. most of my days are actually spent on my own, with people I hardly know, so I very rarely use jokes or mess around, That's why I come on here!!

It is impossible to police and unless it is pointed directly at somebody it is hard to say they are intimidating or bullying, but a lot of comments on here can and are perceived differently then they are actually meant. I would never speak to any of my customers the way People speak to others on here. The arms is different, that is pub talk, not customer talk.

In my opinion, just opening this thread is bullying, it is a direct assault on this chap. He has replied saying he is not a duplicate account and croppie has confirmed that he is not a duplicate account, so delete the thread and let him be.
If you read his posts you'll see that supper plumb can take as good as he gets and has actually been a good sport for the most part.

he's got more bounce back than zebidee, so if his next post raises a few eyebrows thats his choice. He has seen how it is on here and it seems he is genuine in his wish to become a good tradesman so if he takes advice he will fit in a treat, if he keeps posting horrendous pics he'll be getting a bit of a slagging, bit like being on a site really/

A post from someone more experienced telling you the right way to do things can't be considered bullying really. For instance, if 100% of the forum members contributing to a thread say you don't need a roll of PTFE on iso olives and threads, surely that's advice worth taking?
My advice to supper plumb, would be, don't teach your grandma how to suck eggs, tone down the arrogance, and defensiveness. But most of all take the advice, because whoever is teaching you isn't doing a very good job. His way isn't always going to be the right, or the best way.

im a self thought spread soo to speak by trade and id like to think im good at it after almost 10 years.. with not hiccups!!!
as for the plumbing side of things at the moment I know what i know that is whats getting me by But id like to gain more knowledge and hands on in the trade and if it means.

I think we would all lay off the poor chap, he's only learning and coming on here for advice and everyone seems to be shooting him down.
Sometimes people just need a nudge in the right direction and a helping hand along the way, surely this place is the perfect vessel for something like that.
Ive seen people get shot down on site as have many of you lot most probably and its not a nice site, especially when all that person needs is a bit of friendly advice.

Not sure if that's directed at me personally but what you see here is what you get for real with me, this isn't an online persona or an act of mine. I can confidently say I've never given any sort of abuse to another member during my time here and have never felt the need to rise to any bait either. Most here are very laid back while one or two just need to lighten up, you only live once, crack a smile and plod on.

Wow.... I think this thread is soon to be shut down so I better get my two penneth in. Over the years I've had much worse banter but you either give as good as you get or move on. If you don't like this kind of talk then sitework is probably not for you and maybe a small family plumbing firm would be more suited. I must admit I like the mickey taking, it passes the day and you can have a good laugh. I'd be on anti depressants if I took everything my workmates said to me seriously. I haven't read anything that I would call bullying. firm advice, mickey taking, winding up. There's a lot worse going off in this world. I like Suppers confidence and he make me laugh, ease up people.

Fair play, my point is that supper plumb needs to chill out, and I gave him some advice, the advice wasn't accepted by most but it is true, the mods and admin cant please everyone, it is hard to judge whether people are joking sometimes and things can be taken the wrong way. if you give grief and don't listen then expect grief (especially with that much ptfe on a iso valve). and it is most peoples opinion that if you cant take the jokes then don't be on here. personally I am a quiet person and only joke with close friends and family (not complete strangers or people I have never met) I am not on here enough (way too much to do without sitting on my computer all day every day) to get all the jokes and keep up to date with everyone's little jokes. I come on here to help and advise people (like I tried to do here) and that is it. If I want banter, I pick up the phone or go out to real people in the real world. this is not sniping, bullying or getting at anybody just telling the facts.

No, because in real life I don't get any infractions, so I can be as honest as I like.

as such you cant swear 100% that somthing is right till youve been doing it for a while. As we talked about plastics vs copper
you couldent see the advantages of copper because you havent used it enough!
as i said with more experiance you will be able to better understand the pros and cons of each thing.

because in three years you will most likely think "oh no i did that back then......thats gonna haunt me!"
Three years ago i ran an oil line at my house just copper in a trench.
this summer im digging that up, putting a small duct in, with 28mm speed fit through it with the oil line in that.
why?
because three years experiance has taught me how much of a tit i was for not doing it like that in the first place!
