Hi guys, firstly thanks for taking your time to look at my issue.

My shower is a Triton Dart 2 Mixer, I cannot add a link due to being a new user.

Ive attached an image of where the cartridge fits in, don't know If that helps though.

It started to leak out of the valve the other day, so I tried to loosen it to see what the if I could rectify the issue. However as a novice I forgot to turn the water off at the valve. This led to a whistling noise and water coming out everywhere but mainly the shower head.

I tightened it back up but the water would not stop coming out of the shower head. This is now my issue, every time I turn the service valves back on from the combi boiler, water just keeps coming out the shower head.

I bought a new cartridge for shower but this has not solved the issue. I am stuck for ideas now, could it possibly be the flow regulator in the elbow pipe?

I am trying to figure it out but I am having no luck, and not having a shower is quite frustrating.

Thanks in advance.

Can you trace the route of the pipes where they go through the wall?
If the Plumber who originally installed the shower was any good you should find a couple of isolation valves just the other side of the wall

You'd need to turn the water off and properly remove the cartridge, then check that all the o-rings are intact and where they should be, then replace after renewing any o-rings that need replacing, smear some silicone grease on the o-rings too to help prevent them squishing up or popping off when you put the cartridge back in.
Make sure the front part that holds the cartridge in place is fully home before turning the water back on, you'll know it's fully home when the dials and front cover easily go back to where they should be.
The flow regulator just reduces flow if needed, it won't be the problem.
