Want to make some enquiries into this just wondering who people use/ recommend.

looking on line there are so many to choose from so would be nice to hear your thoughts please chaps

Theres been a few posts about this in the past.
I think the concensus is dont bother as you get heavily penalised for scratches and stuff. As its a work van for a plumber odds are against you. Might be differwnt if you are a wool delivery man

My mate leased a van, had it all nicely sign written, kept it clean etc.

After 12 months he gave it back as his contract was up and he wanted something bigger.

They looked over it with a magnifying glass!!

He won't lease again!

I know I've a 10 year old shagger, but it's mine and i don't have to pay monthly for it, even in the quiet months you are still going to need to pay £200 ish quid for your van.
I'd never go for a new van anyway... i may just be a tight Scotsman though 😉

But the leasing is tax efficient month on month not just the year you purchase it plus the repayments on hp tend to be higher, and the deposit is a lot bigger.

my transit is starting to cost money now and if I out it now it still has value, another 20-30k on the clock and it's worthless.

Agreed, but you still have to find/spend the money. You can buy other useful items to get tax relief, my seven year old van is to reliable to get rid of. Besides the thought of parting with huge amounts of money for what is a tool box on wheels leaves me cold.

How many miles your hi ace done Leo? And how many more you expect?

Only 40k, but it's nearly all town mileage. Not good for diesels. I would expect about 200k plus from it, I'll keep it until it gets to scruffy and doesn't give a good image.

200k that's some good round the doors use! Ours typically 08 130k in trade in as tatty and mechanically ruined.

I know it's usually different when you start out, but I've been saving up a bit each month and am now at the stage that I will buy our 2nd van outright in cash. That way I can get a better deal by buying a good quality private van. I will slip my mate who owns his own garage £100 or something to come along with me one evening to look at it so I know I'm not buying a clanger.

Finance is very expensive basically so I will never buy another van without having the cash first.
