I have a insurance job to try and rescue a poorly installed quad shower the customer wants to save the tiling if possible and has a few spare so fingers crossed it may work , the loss adjuster allowed em £1500 that will just about cover materials. Kop

Been servicing this boiler for the last 6 years but recently it's developed a series of problems, it wasn't installed vey well and the builders were not the best and didnt finish off very well , I've upgraded to a Ideal Vogue 32kw with their halo control which is very similar to a nest so far quite impressed , finishing off today upgrading the gas removing a redundant section, fitting a new rad and altering some poorly fitted pipework then cleaning the system.

I like the vogue, The fact you cant range rate it, the valves underneath and crappy drain off let it down for me
I used their Halo on this one otherwise or it's weather comp or connected via open therm with a combi pack 4 which ever suits best , added my own drain point and there's one on the filter, valves aren't the greatest but ok if there used and moved and freed up, it's now completed the warranty and paperwork to do and print happy days 😉👍. Well, you can hardly expect him to bend the wood around the flue! 🙂
No excuse needs a 45° elbow rolled out the flue elbow not 2 - 90° elbows bet its all he had ? Bracketing is not right either and the flue needs a fall back to the boiler, slack boilers in lofts my pet hate 😠👍. Grumpy tired kop 😂

Yep looks like it mate someone has been trying to seal something up at some stage 🙁 I'd of had to change that I couldn't of put it back the same way but its safe so hey ho, what you working on bud you never seem to post much about your day we could probably all learn a bit from you about boiler repair tips things to look out for common faults ect don't be shy 😉🤣 kop

Yep and whole flue system was replaced 3 elbows, stnd horizontal flue, m extension and the top flue gasket on the boiler

Plus a new condy trap as the last f&(!r had lost it

I’m off in a week so will try to put something together 👍

My weeks are very similar mate, really mundane. Being the warmer weather too, I’m on landlord safety checks. I highly doubt I can teach anything as I work on primarily 2 model of boilers - Vaillant Ecotec Pro and Intergas Eco RF - most common faults I get on either - room stat too low or customer has ran out of gas, and don’t know how to reset meter/boiler.

Vaillant's suffer from mainly Diverter’s (leaking or letting by), F75’s and PCB’s.

Intergas - mostly low water pressure sensors, blocked expansion hose (dirty systems), ignition leads.

The other boilers I have worked on, but infrequently, Worcester combi’s, Baxi Neta-tec, potterton performa, potterton ultra. (All combi’s).

Currently feeling apathetic and possibly have low self esteem. I’ve forgotten a lot of basics, and just winging everything else. I’m at a stage in my life where I don’t know what to do. I bet you’re glad you asked now 😂

No I'm not mate it's good to get it out at least you know you have a problem but it's only you who can change that, our trade can and is a lonely one at times I often spend weeks in bathrooms with only the radio for company, I have to agree if I spend to long servicing or on breakdowns I find it quite boring and mundane getting access to properties, parking , dealing with landlords or estate agents shortage of spares stocked locally always means hassle and another visit sometimes two and often I haven't the time, but it's a valuable service and very important so you shouldn't be doubting your self worth , post some pictures of things you come across in your day don't really matter what? that way you can interact with more of us boiler problems can be tricky to diagnose especially if you don't do much of it but a picture or two of before and after a repair and what you did may help one of us on here or a younger member and you are reaching out to more members on here , now give yourself a kick up the ars- find a hobby or interest this life is it mate it's not a practice the time fly's by and it's not healthy to carry on as you are so rather than back slapping us let's see more of what you're doing ok bud . Regards Wayne aka kop

I'd do Boiler Servicing and Repairs, system troubleshooting all day long tbh. However most of mine are nice customers, we do very few landlords reports so that's a big bonus. There's just not enough money in them for us, with the hassle of getting access and that.

Bathroom's tbh I hate, and we've got loads of them to do. Just on a 3 weeker two man job at the minute. Then i've got another 6 to do before the year is out.

Do you not get fed up with all the s*** off tenants? Or is it not that bad. I find them all arseholes 😂
Totally bud pita, access , communication, often live like pigs and have no respect for the owners property 😠a nightmare throw in the supposably management agent who want to do as little as possible then FM not a great way to earn a crust 😂. Kop
