Hi Guys
I am having an Ideal Logic 30 combi boiler fitted next week at a cost of £1100 fitted and it has a 7 year guarantee subject to annual servicing. I think the price is reasonable but can anybody tell me if I am doing the right thing. I can have a Vaillant eco tec 28 fitted for £1300 but...
Hi, my thermostat is about a year old and the screen has gone blank, changed the batteries. Then opened up the back and the on buttons were at the off position so clicked them back on. However its still not working, is there anything else I can try? The receiver now has a flashing red light so...
Hi guys, new to the forum as I wanted some answers from people who know what they are talking about!!
About to purchase a Ideal Logic 30+, I know Ideal have been anything but in the past but from the brief information on the net about this boiler it seems that times have changed. This boiler is...
Hi All
I have accumulated several old copper hot water cylinders, old copper pipe, assorted brass fittings and some old taps.
Is it worth me taking a trip to the local scrap metal yard? What should I expect to get for a standard sized copper cylinder?
Regards
Andrew
Hi all, just thought id mention this because i had a heated debate with 2 other gas engineers about the drop allowance when doing a tightness test.Last week 1 of the engineers left a 2 millibar drop at a property and said it was fine to do so as it was a g4 meter..i said ok but could you isolate...
Did a 'simple' leaking tap the other week, took me three weeks and three visits! It seems there are a hundred different ceramic cartridges out there, couldn't even strip this one down because the plastic casing was moulded into the brass.
Any body know of any good suppliers, found this page...
The description of "fd" fault code is No water flow. The explanation I have been given for this is because of some installation errors: The flow and return pipes coming from the boiler are crossed with the result that the zone control valves and the auto by-pass valve are in the wrong place...
DIY Gas fitting is not recommending. This includes the installation of Gas appliances such as cookers and fires etc.
Always use a gas safe registered plumber for all your Gas plumbing requirements.
In short, can anyone tell me what max load of a U6 meter is, is it 65KW or 6m3/hr.
I am looking at two boilers at 30kw and 24kw, plus one gas cook at 9kw, total usage is 63KW/hr which is within the 65KW.
However, if I look at the gas flow rate, 30kw boiler at 3.4m3/hr and 24 KW at...
Hello. When the toilet is flushed the macerator works properly but it after it has finished churning it doesn't turn off. The macerator stops but there is a noise that sounds as if the electric supply keeps on. I turn the electric supply off for it to stop. Sometimes I try it by temporarily...
Hi
I'm new to the forum so apologies if I've posted incorrectly. (if I have please let me Know.)
My combi boiler has started losing pressure. I noticed last night when I turned on the hot water tap, but the boiler didn't light. I filled the boiler via the filling loop to about 1 bar, but when...
Hello all,
Came home this evening to discover my heating wouldn't turn on, and I can't get any hot water either.
I noticed I have an F1 - "Low Water Pressure" fault displaying on the boiler.
I've followed the instructions in the manual, and in other threads in this forum, opened the blue &...
Has anyone else had problems with these showers. Called to loads of these with complaints of going hot and cold. Water pressure has been fine on all with no low pressure light lit. surely a manufacturers fault?:(
Hi there,
I'm looking for some advice. My wife and I have recently moved into a rented house that has an oil boiler system. We've never had oil before; but have noticed that there is a very strong smell of oil emanating from the boiler.
The boiler is located in the kitchen underneath a work...
i was wondering if any one could recommend a quality pair of knee pads, as the company i work for only provide rubbish thin foam ones, so i went and bought some gel ones from b and q but these are still not providing sufficient support.
suggestions would be great :)
As it says really. I've recently tiled the bathroom and i'm now looking to seal around the bottom of tiles and bath. Any tips on the best sealant to use, brand names would be really useful. I've been told to go for a natural curing sealant and to avoid the type that smell like vinegar....though...
About 2 weeks ago i got up in the morning and found the boiler was not working and the display said 'F1'. I Googled the code and what i read was easy no problem, the gauge was showing 0 pressure, so open up black and blue values until pressure rose to 1.5 bar, closed them and system fired back...
Hello,
British Gas installed our new boiler. After stormy weather it became apparent that water gets into the flue pipe. It has an opening to allow air to get in. Unfortunately, it also lets in rain water, which is driven in by the wind. British Gas so far have said it is a fault with the...
