Police do not have to write a report unless someone is injured. That's why they ask you several times if your ok. If you are then they don't need to do anything. Asking as cars arnt blocking the road they will leave you to it.

My cousins a copper and I had this problem when I had a smash with a landrover. I wish I said I had whiplash, backache headache and erectile disfunction as honesty gets you nowhere anymore!!

The bizzies don't need to get involved with a traffic accident unless their assisstance is requested by one of those involved or there's damage to public property - such as a lampost.

As long as both parties have exchanged details they won't intervene. They won't even let you report an accident. I went down to the Police Station after some bint reversed into my car, went to report it because I didn't trust her and was worried she was uninsured. Was told by the WPC on the desk that it was nothing to do with them.

I got a note asking for local residents to come forward with information about guns and gangs pushed through my front door yesterday by a policeman with a sniffer dog. I told him to stop posting junk mail through my door and he said "sorry, I'm only doing what I'm told to do" so I told him never to post crap through my door again and he said "Okay".

^ True by the way, can't stand the corrupt filth, but the moral of the story is they shouldn't interfere with the populous unless requested to do so.

the bizzies don't get involved with accidents as it might mean doing a bit of paperwork they'd rather sit on their arses on a motorway roundabout and stop the occasional speeder easy pull and they can justify their wages because as we all know speeding is worse than terrorism!

Do you know the true story why they're called bizzies?

They probably had a rush on to get back and do some paperwork.

fair play though for stopping and helping her. :hurray:

They're too busy chasing their claims for tripping over kerbs.

Honestly - good on you for reporting it but where's the "service to the public" gone?

I knew 3 lads who died after their car hit a lampost and the driver's mother got the bill from the council a few weeks later. Not sure what the deal was with it as it wasn't her who did the damage.

One of my mates is an ex copper, did his 30 years and now works for the ambulances on patient transfer. Says that years ago he loved his job but couldn't wait to get out at the end. He said the job was unrecognisable, too much paperwork.

My brother-in-law has just spent a few million on new ambulances (£170,000 each) for the firm he's with. He says the paramedic/ambulance driver courses they run only take a few days and open to anyone. I didn't realise the ambulance service was outsourced/private.
Only had a short conversation with him about it so not clear with the full details.

I don't really know all the ins and outs, but he's employed by the same company that employ the paramedics. He says that they get all the dross as the outsourced/private companies do all the good runs. But he enjoys it.

Sounds like a good job. Just checked his Linkedin profile but he hasn't updated it with his latest position but it's an American firm.

Paramedics are just first aiders and drivers ! You might get one technician onboard like

My father in law was a paramedic for 30 years there a hell of a lot more than that very highly skilled and re do exams every 3 years witch takes weeks of study
What do you call a technician
Ambulance over here has a driver and a paramedic
Older paramedics are highly skilled with gunshot wounds and massive trauma blunt and penetration from shrapnel

Well here there not really trained to much ! Thats why when they move patients from hospital to hospital or planned moves they have to take a nurse with them ! Dont get me wrong i respect anyone that does it ! And im sure their is training in it ! But i posted a story of a lad nearly bleeding to death a few weeks ago he was seen by an ambulance then let go ! Made it round the corner and was nearly on his arse ! He was close to dying !
