Several years ago I started a selfbuild abroad. I sourced a lot of kit in the UK (price) or used kit I could find abroad but originally from UK manufactureres so manuals etc would be in English.
I had successfully put a rad system in a house in the UK and thought i could research enough to do the same with UFH. 1st mistake as the wiring alone is somewhat trickier.
Pipes all installed to manifold - no problem, cash a bit short so thought use boiler direct to manifold and rely on boiler thermostat to control temp. This might have worked had i not bought a system boiler (very big mistake)- thermostat only goes down to 55C.
Have a very Heath Robinson solution in place at the moment to keep the temperature down (please don't ask!) and cash still tight.
Is there anything i can do to rectify this / these cockups. Someone suggested a mixer valve, is this possible and exactly what part should I buy?
I now have a friendly plumber, but whilst his plumbing is very neat, etc he has not come across a system boiler setup - not surprising! and the language barrier is a bit challenging at this level.
So as you can see, I bit off about 10 mouthfuls more than I could chew!
I would really value some guidance on this.
Thanks

U will need blending valve, pipe stat, 2 port valve, pump and sticky back plastic.

Don't let anyone pass out on your floor as you'll kill them. I'm reticent to suggest anything tbh for various reasons. But I suggest you get a different plumber because a system boiler is plumbing 101.

At least bodily fluids will dry quickly.

Thanks to everyone, I appreciate the sentiments and sense of humor. Points taken.
I did what I thought to be reasonable at the time, and at the end of the build, it was the only cockup, so we probably got off lightly. In fact several trades were quite impressed - I worked alongside the electrician, channeled in all the conduit and evrey box. My partner tiled it all and when we got a tiler in, he did not believe it initially!
And we came in on budget.
The problem now is that I need to integrate the solar, wood burner, and gas heating. I am going to get in an engineer to sort out how to control everything, but just wanted to know if the current heating problem was fixable before I bare my soul to an expert!
I would like to fix it properly, but there is just no more cash!
PS the plumber was not involved with the choice of boiler, that was my ignorance.

Agree mate

Thanks ermintrude,
Much appreciated, this seems doable (and i understand it.. mostly) and presumably fundamentally the same as the link from another contributer - jimbob see later. (The forum would not accept a reposting of the link)

As the current pump is a grundfoss alpha, it would seem sensible to use this as the UFH circulating pump as it self adjusts to load(?) and in the interim use a basic pump I have sitting in the garage to replace it - currently the setup is boiler to pump (pump controlled by boiler), pump to 3 port, 3 port to manifold or hot water tank.
What is the reason for the two port by the way, and what does the thermostat control?
Thanks again, I have been avoiding this issue for ages - it will be so good to get it fixed.

PS Can you still get sticky back plastic, I haven't used it since Blue Peter went off the air..

Stat controls pump, when cold the following happens..

Pump running pipe stat is energised and demands heat, two port opens to allow water from 3 port in to ufh via blending valve. Microswitch in 2 port kicks in boiler and heating system.

When hot pipe stat happy so closes 2 port and breaks demand at boiler. Flow from return through blending valve in a closed loop..... Until it cools enough to cause pipe stat to activate.

Blue badge on way.

For integration of ur other stuff ACV cylinder!
