The missus wants to install a dishwasher. Problem is the only place to put it is at the opposite end of the kitchen. I was just going to extend the drain hose under the units and connect to the sink waste. It's about 2.5 meters in total. Anyone know if this will work? Hotpoint are being vague saying it's not recommended to increase length to more than 1.75 meters but not saying it out right won't work.

is this to connect it to a trap?

Why dont you just add a length of waste pipe on its own trap and drop it in there?

Yeah connecting in through the trap under the sink. I'll struggle to get the fall on the drain pipe plus it will mean dismantling the kitchen to get it in I wanted to avoid that

Right, I'm going top it the washing machine the other side of the kitchen and install the dishwasher next to the sink.

Im thinking the only issue with the dishwasher will be food waste blocking it up over time with the extra run, the washing machine is just water.

Good call.
Just make sure the high point of the waste is next to the appliance.

I presume by what your saying you've bought a hot point. Could check round to c if any manufacturers specify d 2.5m on their drain. I know Bosch hav around 1.74m hoses but they supply extension pieces too. Could b worth looking into

People think i'm mad when i say "you must rinse the plates before putting them in a dishwasher". Untill i show em what does just grind to a halt in the pipe....Youll struggle to not have problems there Zeb.

I've checked 5 different manufacturer's and they all say not recommended to extend. I only checked one model on each manufacturer. I'll do some ringing round today see what they say. If not ill stick with changing the washing machine place plan.
