Heya fellas just had my van deliberately dented on the way back from work round my area

Was driving uphill there was bottleneck up ahead I stopped to let a few cars down. First of which was a new bmw3 a young man wearing a typical of the area baseball cap with an air typical to a young man driving a flash new bmw was approaching. Despite ample space he pointed for me to move which I did reluctantly.
So he drives up and rolls his window down starts saying "you got nuff room there yea" I said to him "you are ok just drive on" he gives me a dirty look says "if you wasnt such an obvious undercover cop .. I would **** you up"
I paid no attention to that amusing remark but then he drives a yard forward gets his fist out, pummels on my van then speeds off.

I got a dashcam with audio. Looked at the footage I can see his plate, his face, hear him talking hear him banging on my van. The dent is small but its a brand new transit connect that not got 3k miles on it yet.

What to do? Im sure he is local I could find him and his car myself. Or should I report him to police?

Given the fact I was punched through my van window a couple of weeks ago for apparently cutting the guy up which was something and nothing. Got out to realise the bloke had 2 young kids in the car and I was in a company van and he was crapping himself, I decided to go the rozzer route and basically their solution is to tell him off so from past experience I will be dealing things my own way in future. I also got a plate and have found him so the upper hand is mine now!

what I really want is for the cops to check his insurance and license. Im 99% sure thats not his car, if it is he is a drug dealer. Either way he would be in big **** with the law

Might as well go to the police and give them all the evidence - but keep a copy of the video for yourself.
When you watch what goes on in any of those cop chase programmes, the criminals gets usually off with the crime or a slap on the wrist small fine or order.

you could try putting his cars pic and reg on facebook and ask for a pm with address , you maybe supprised at the responce nobody likes shi@'s like him.

I have seen this happen a few times around here already this year

Both, repots to cops, then wait 6 months for revenge.

This. It might make life a bit uncomfortable for him for a bit. You might even get insurance details from the police. But wait long enough so that nobody would suspect you then have a clumsy slip whilst holding a bottle of nitromors right next to his flash car.. Ooops...

Tesco bag full of nitromoors left in the middle of his roof , oh my god what a bloody mess that leaves.

When I was in the motor trade this was done to a lad I used to know , I ended up putting the mess right , it cost thousands . He always said it was something to do with a burd.

Probably his mums car

Just make sure you have your face covered - which will be abit suspicious in itself
Mate of mine had his car done over but had cameras outside - he knew the bloke who did it.
Havent heard a lot since....!

The police & court system in this country is ducked up to say the least, there was a thief in London caught for robbing bikes they bad proof of 180,000 worth of stolen bikes the they knew about 6months suspended sentence, where someone who got caught doing a wheelie on a empty Motorway 1 year inside

This talk of hazardous substances makes me worried more about my van than anything. If i can get him fined and my dent sorted Il be satisfied

Maybe some of the expert dent pullers can sort the dent out for very little money.
Seen it done back to new on a bad dent and only around £50 worth

Report him to your insurance company. Someone did to me for a collision that never happened! It's put all my renewals up, and there's nothing I can do for twelve months. They've got 12 months to prove it or drop it.
The old bill won't do anything, but messing with his insurance will pi$$ him right off.

Ive heard stories of accident fault disputes resulting in both parties losing no claims

Find him and knock his head off
Then report him to the law if you need to
Not very civil I know but round my way it works
