got a problem with a ideal imax extra been in about 13 months (error 08 air pressure switch not closing/opening)

so well under the 2 year warranty, been commissioned by ideal so thought ok no problem

phone ideal up

get through to tech after about 5 mins on the phone as ideal list the wrong number on the web ,
right to issue you with a service call
I first you need to go to your merchant and raise an order/ an invoice with us for £200 and £50 per hour the engineer is there

wtf i thought

also he said (gets better)

will we be testing air quality and looking at how the system install and if we find anything out of spec / we dont like

your warranty will be void

why-gif-458.gif

so i said ok good bye

ideal you can shove your warranty where the sun doesnt shine as i can guarantee it will be void (they would make sure they find something)

so just a heads up dont bother with ideal commercial warranty :banghead:

So, they at saying that they are looking for an excuse to get out of the warranty before the even go to look.

and there not cheap boilers fan alone is juts shy of 1K and these sets have 6 in total (3 masters 3 slaves)

so anything big new boilers

That's ridiculous. Especially as they commissioned it. Also do they refund you if everything is to their liking? If so then why should you have to be out of pocket just to get them to turn up and fix their fault.

I thought Ideal was finally recovering from the whole Icos/Isar debacle, looks like they are heading there again with their customer service.

I must say, I have fitted about 25 Logics over the last couple of years and one of them had an issue with the plate heat exchanger when it was about a year old and it was replaced with no issue. Other than that they are all working fine as far as I know.

Seeing loads of sump failures, and hex failures becoming common, warranty useless

have your serviced any?

if you havent watch out for the sumps (the crack where the removable plate is, to see if theres any crap in the bottom of the hex)

Ideal are a joke
Its amazing how they were serviced by Ideal and when a fault occurs its suddenly if the 'install' .

Any install issues surely should have been picked up on its service.

I fitted a load of them in 2014/2015. Had a batch of faulty gas valves, they sent me 4 valves and said return faulty ones as you swap them. No mention of my time and labour, nor my reputation being damaged after I recommended the boiler!

Just before Xmas one blew the board. Their service engineer blamed my installation. Told the customer there wasn't enough distance from an internal corner. The MIs allow 25mm. 25mm FFS. The flue is about 650mm away. Complete and utter twunt.

Like most other manu's the big warranties are killing them. Ideal especially were happy to sell to the big volume slingers some doing 2 swaps a day and it is biting them on the arse.

Ideal Commercial Warranty ?
What's that ?

Last Commercial Ideal We installed has a fault on ignition, they wouldn't come out because apparently, they have no record of the installation but are happy to come out and look over it for £200.

After much arguing, We decided to cease the sale of Ideal Boilers. We stopped selling the Domestics years ago for a similar reason.

And thats the issue as a a sole trader or small company your reputation for selling this appliance.
I am not a fan of worcesters however as a company you can't fault them.

I have serviced most of them, like I say no issues as of yet. I had one where the seals on the sump/internal flue way had perished. That wasn't one I had installed though
