7.50am off to first job
8.15am pick up items from store
8.30am arrive at first job, arrange day before and said I would be there 8.30 - 9.00am No answer, knocked, banged, tried door? unlocked, let in cat, shouted, no answer, someone in shower, could hear running water, anyway I thought its booked in and a busy day ahead so i got out a few tools and started.
Remove a wood burner that was installed dangerously by a ex-gamekeeper and a farm labourer? Will call tomorrow to see what they want to do now!
9.01am set off to next job, satnav says arrival 10.09am
Knock on door, nice elderly man opens the door "you must have heard the kettle" oh yes! tea with milk no sugar please.
10.30am get started, Smart energy solar system, loads of leaks, glycol like sludge, pump station in the worst place possible, in roof behind chimney, no head room TW@TZ.
11.00am system drained and pump station removed, outside stripping down odd german pump station all fibre washers odd sizes, got a cheapo pump station in van for spares nothing fits, threads odd!
11.32am phone rings chap with solar panels on roof needs them removing temp. for roofers to put on new roof, i'll come and have a look at 4pm
11.37am "cup of tea Ian"
11.50am deceid to fit new pump station, Miebes out of van a selection of fittings and back in roof, swopped connected and filling pump running with some used glycol for flushing
12.32pm " I made you some lunch Ian, you do like chicken pie, mash, mushy peas with mint and gravy dont you?
1.04pm drain system, wash dirt out off filling pump and get back in the roof fill with new glycol turn on filling pump.
1.44pm all air expelled from system and take pressure to 5bar test for 20 mins check for leaks
2.10pm remove excess pressure, fit prv pipe to glycol container
2.31pm set contaller to RUN
2.44pm load everything in van apart from a few bits
3.04pm set pump speed and flow all working and even sun popped out for a while!
3.20pm more tea and apple pie, sort out money and have a chat
gone 4.00pm text other chap to say i;m running late and will be there at 5.30pm
5;30pm knock on door, bang knock bang no reply
5.35pm phone customer, "im outside" ah! i'll let you in
5.45pm priced job, he happy and day arranged
on the way home
6.09pm home check phone messages, ukmail have a problem with a delivery can I let them have the customers phone number! now I have to find it!
