Thanks cool cats.

Oh and it's being used for heating and controlled by programmer and stat if that makes a difference .

Wiring looks bizarre at first glance, you could call emmeti tech on 01993 824900 and see if they can help.

Brown is your demand wire from the stat/programmer.

Black is permanent live.

The two greys are your equivalent of grey and orange on a traditional zone valve. For a normal application you can apply permanent live to one grey, the other grey is then you're switched live for you boiler and or pump.

If you are using it to switch a combi that uses volt-free switching you connect you use the grey wires as you would wire a room stat to a combi.

That is what I make of it from looking at the diagram, never seen one of these before so I don't guarantee this is correct.

Sounds good Ricky but why would there be two permanent lives (black and grey?)

Sorry, didn't explain.

Live on brown on black probably opens the valve and live on black only closes the valve. Similar setup to a three port valve. Permanent live on the grey is for switching purposes.

Again, just a guess.

Tony
P = mains switching Q= low voltage switch these are the grey wires.

The motors are wired the same for both, perm live to black, switched live via stat / timer or whatever the control for the zone is on Brown ( when there is no live on brown it will use the perm live on black to power closed, when there is live on both I.E. zone control calling so both brown and black are live it will power open, then blue to neutral to enable the motor to operate.

Repeat for all zones, via the relevant zone controller.
