Hey anyone used the bar shower fixing brackets that fit in the wall. Any advice on what distance to set them in the wall? So you can connect bar shower after its been boarded and tiled. I have always used the fixing kits that fit on the surface before, were you cut the pipes back so 25mm is sticking out then attach.

ripped one out as it leaked - they have flexis at the back and shower assy just clips onto a brkt .
restricted flow through the flexis no good on tank and clinder system

So these would be first fixed by bringing the pipes out through the wall within the shower panel, elbowing up to a 15mm to 1/2inch connector for the flexi to attach on to?

Thanks the instructions say put a backplate elbow in the wall. A nipple in to this, i.e 1/2 male to 1/2 male, then a 1/2 inch female to male elbow. The flexi connects to the male end of the elbow. Seems a lot of fittings when I could elbow then out of the wall in copper elbow up with a soldered fittings then fit a 15mm to 1/2 male fitting.

No no no no no......
1st fix pipes 1000mm/1200mm off floor, 150mm pipe centers with cap ends.
2nd fix use 'fast fix' converters (bristan) fast, easy, if theres any leaks its away from tiles (never seen leak with 1).

One i repaired was flexi/garden hose/ jubilee clip heaven! To fix the repair i had to mix match various flexi's and pipework. Was absolute horrible! Would never install 1!
