Hi all, I'm having major issues with my the bath mixer tap in that the bar connecting the two taps seems to be pulling the taps too close together and they end up off square to the bath surface so neither tap seals to the bath surface properly. As the taps are both leaning inward towards eachother, neither of the 3/4" washers will seal flush to the bath when tightening the back nuts because only half of each washer is in contact with the bath and the other is suspended. In short, either the mixer bar pulls the tops of the taps too close together for the base of the taps to fit flush in the holes in the bath, OR the holes in the steel bath were once cut too far apart and are pulling the base of the taps too far apart and making them both lean towards eachother at the top and not flush at the bath surface. Im not sure which one is the case. Does anyone have any experience of this or know which is most likely the case? 😕 Any Ideas whats going on/how I can solve this as when taking a shower they now leak from the surface water running on to the bath aound each tap

Many thanks for the advice. Is it ok to seal between the bath and taps with silicone then if I cant manage to get taps which fit the bath?

depends how far off flush the taps sit. either it will look ok or it will look a right mess. a pic might help but you should have a good idea anyway.
